A children's book I wrote and illustrated exploring the special features of animals that are black and white. Each spread has an abstract black and white illustration with a description for children to guess the animal. When the page is folded over, a die-cut reveals the animal. It is targeted both at infants who at first can only recognize black and white shapes, as well as older children being introduced to scientific concepts in nature. The book has metallic mirrored endpapers and creates fun silhouettes and layers depending on whether pages are folded open or closed.
